Shows don't pay enough for an independent agent. So, most rely on hourly payed managers to find talent. Kurt L Moore, told me he was thinking of becoming an Agent, but then the hurricanes hit.

2 years ago someone tried to get a talent agency started but I don't think it lasted very long. The bottom line is in this town you don't need an agent. All he would do is take about 10 - 15% of your weekly salary to send you to an audition you would probably have heard about already through the paper or friends. Why do that! If you are trying to work as an entertainer, get resumes and tapes to all the shows that hire for the position you are looking for. Singer, Dancer, Singer/Dancer, Comedian etc. Then ask if and when they might be holding auditions. If they don't know at that time, ask them when a good time would be to check back with them. It's important to be persistent but not a pest. Also get to know as many entertainers as you can as they can let you know if and when their show will be auditioning for new cast members. Plus a reccomendation from someone within the show often goes a long way. Some shows audition for all positions every year. Others, like the show I work for only hold auditions when someone leaves. We do however accept resumes at anytime for future consideration.
There also used to be a Branson Talent Bulletin Board. I don't no how long it was around, but my understanding is that was not very effective. Good luck to you if you decide to undertake an new talent site and good luck finding work as an entertainer if that is your ultimate goal.

I thought the lady by the name of Chisi (sp) was a talent agent in Branson. I think she used to have her own show in Branson a long time ago. I've seen her in a "Reunion" show a few years ago that was put on by Larry Wilhite. I wish there would be another show like that, it was very good!!

Okay...I read what you wrote. What do you think about sending an audition CD to any od the shows. Seems like a resume can't showcase the talents of people. Do you know any shows that only hire summer performers, like for college students?

You did realize that these posts you just responded to were about a year old- right?
But, I can assure you that every show in Branson gets flooded with hundreds of audition cd's, resumes, etc.

I think I remember her and her stage name was something like Chaesre or Chesire or Caesare. She may have been an agent for some of the entertainers in those old shows. I haven't seen her in Branson in a long time but recall she would often be in the audience in the 80's or early 90's.

Here is a website about Chisai Childs http://www.great-music.net/chisai.html

I don't think she was an agent, she just gave a lot of no name performers a chance to perform on her show. She also had "stars" play at the theater.

Now that someone mentioned her, I do remember Chisai in connection with Shoji getting his start.

Was she also involved with Amanda when she was playing at a theater where Mutton Hollow was located?
