American Bandstand Theater, Grill and Patch Collection event

We went!!
I see that VBeason has posted their new website, so you've all had a chance to see the information. But I wanted to tell you about the event we went to yesterday!

We went to the California Grill press announcement for the new, first ever American Bandstand Theater. This thing sounds so cool!!!
There were opening remarks by the owners, the Mayor of Branson, etc. Chris Lucchi, of Morris Hospitality Group announced that the California Grill would become the American Bandstand Grill with the Theater and Museum connecting to the Grill, he introduced members of the project along with Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and Paul Revere of Paul Revere and the Raiders, who will be performing about 178 days at the theater. Dick Clark's assistant spoke about his excitement over this new venture. He said that Dick Clark had wanted to be there, but was still recovering from the stroke he had last year. He is going through therapy and is progressing steadily and plans to be at this year's New Years Rockin Eve. Mr. Patch spoke of his 1957 car and memorabilia collection and the museum that will hold everything. He said the museum, would be more of a "Main Street USA" than a museum, with scenes like a 1957 Kitchen, Livingroom at Christmas time with toys around the tree, Car Dealerships and other scenes from that year. They announced that the signing of another act or acts from the 50's was in the works and the search would begin soon for entertainers to perform in their continuous running show "Cruisin 57". Among the speakers were Bill Medley and Paul Revere, both sounded extremely excited to be coming to Branson and being a part of this new venue.
In addition, they had color scheme layouts and artist renderings of the buildings and menues for the AB Grill. At the end of the announcements, we were served hamburgers, french fries, cokes and shakes. If the food is the same that will be served at the AB Grill, Billy Bob's is in for some competition! At the end of the event everyone in attendance was asked to sign two steel trusses that will be installed in the construction.
I feel very honored that we got to be a part of this new and exciting project for Branson!!

I'm so glad you went! I know my contact is very excited about this and will be there to handle the training of personnel for the restaurant and is the liason between the group and Dick Clark Productions.

I told them I was going to be watching the progress and that I had "spies" in the branson area that will also keep me informed. They just laughed and mentioned they better stay on track and on time with their progress, or they might have to answer to me.

Glad you got to make it Branson Mom. I had planned on going, but got caught up in some business meetings and didn't get there. Sounds as if I missed a great time!!
